Working Holiday Visa
A Working Holiday Visa is a residence permit allowing travellers to undertake employment in the country issuing the visa to supplement their travel funds. The country which receives the greatest number of working holiday visa applications in the world is Australia, which issued 240,000 permits in 2015 alone. Each day young people from 31 partner countries fly to the vast dry continent of kangaroos 'down under'. A land that was, and continues to be the dream of countless generations, synonymous with adventure, challenge, novelty, change and opportunity, way outside of their normal comfort zones. On a daily diet of hardship and joy far from the mundane routine of their homelands, these young travellers experience a unique and occasionally arduous way of life. Labouring on a farm or barbecueing with friends, they discover themselves as they contemplate the immensity of this distant land.
